New Barbie Thumbelina Line

Interesting how these mid sized fashion dolls make their debut right as MGA is getting ready to pull Bratz off of the shelves. Barbie's new line of Thumbelina dolls hit shelves just in time for Christmas. All of dolls seen here were featured in Barbie's new Thumbelina movie. I've posted all three of the dolls currently avaliable below. Chrysella is my favorite :)

R.A.L.F. the Robot

I work for a small toy company in Birmingham, AL called Summit Products.
We currently made the move from the suburbs of Birmingham in to the big city and are now offically located in the heart of the city center in Southside Birmingham. One of the highlights of our new building is a three story robot in the middle of the attrium, named R.A.L. F. For Robotic Alien Life Form. I've posted a quick little video of Ralf's creation. He is by far the newest and coolest addition to Summit Toys.

Customization is Key

FAO SCHWARZ just opened the first “Styled By Me Barbie Boutique”. Which for those of you who are unfamiliar, this is a 1500 Square foot retail space with in the store that leads girls through a step by step design process to create the Barbie of their dreams. Average retail price for dolls is 65 dollars. You can bet that this is on the top of my to do list for New York Toy Fair!

The Toy Society

Today I stumbled across an idea that is absolutely mind blowing! The Toy Society is a small project spreading the love throughout the streets. Nothing to it really just a bunch of handmade toys looking for a nice home. The Toy Society started out as a small street art project in Australia and is slowly spreading around the world. Should you stumble across a fabulous hand made toy on a park bench or hanging from a telephone poll on your travels collect them up and take them home with you! But don't forget to let them know about it! All I can say is that I hope I find one soon!!

This cat was hand stitched from charcoal fabric and dropped at children's playground in Brunswick, Australia. How fabulous is this little cat? I love the hand stitched edges.

Huru Humi's

I only have one thing to say about Huru Humi’s; I've got to have one! They are currently available at both Toys-R-Us and Target. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the line, they are an interactive doll line that responds to you when you speak to them as well as each other. Up to four Huru Humi's can interact with each other at a time. My personal favorite, Sierra is all about saving animals and of course the world too. Sounds like my kind of girl. I'm also a huge fan of Caitlyn, the aspiring fashion designer; however she hasn't hit the market yet. Check them out, guru at http://www.huruhumi.com/ they’re the coolest interactive toy around.

Bad Day for Bratz

Well it looks like this holiday season will be Bratz last. You might want to run out and get them while you can!! I've posted an article regarding the final ruling between Mattel and MGA below. As a tribute to the little fashionistas I've also posted a few of my favorite dolls from over the years.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20081204/bs_nm/us_mattel_bratz

Remember this one? I loved the Pampered Pups line. Everything from the heart packaging to the millions of tiny accessories. Not to mention the cool pet factor. I mean c'mon what hollywood starlett doesn't have a fashionable pup with her?

Then there were Baby Bratz. Who wouldn't want to take home Sasha!? With her cool little afro puffs, and her tiny little bunny??

And last but not least the new collector's series Bratz dolls. This one is my favorite, Anyssa. She's is currently on shelves for 49.99 at both Wal-Mart and Toys-R-Us.

Pullip

Pullip is a fashion doll that expresses today’s present feeling. She stands 30cm tall (about 12 inches), and she is fully articulated. Pullip can open and close her eyes, and look side to side. A new Pullip Fashion doll is issued every month. Each doll comes with a unique outfit and accessories, trading card and a doll stand. Pullip means, “leaf” (young) in Korean. This particular doll is one of my favorites.

"Cozy" & "Zmooz" Dolls by Keptin-Jr

I've been researching enviromentally friendly dolls lately, and I stumbled across this little cutie from Keptin-Jr. This is what they have to say about the dolls not having faces:

The Keptin-Jr "Cozy" & "Zmooz" dolls do not have faces. The "Toddels" do have faces. There is something for everyone. Why don't some dolls have faces? This is to allow the child to create their own face based on their own imagination. The doll can smile, can be sad, can be comforting...whatever the child would like. Isn't that great? Some people think so. Others are a little "creeped out." (Hence, Toddels to the rescue).

What do you think?

Punk Rock Pug

A close up of his shoes. Tell me you don't love those cute little skulls!!

I came across these pics while searching for new images of BHPC to post. This particular outfit never made it to production, but this little Pug loved it just the same! I had so much fun working on this fashion pack. I love little punk rockers.

Momiji!!

Momiji Dolls are friendship dolls, turn them upside down and inside youll find a teeny Momiji card to write a teeny tiny message on. All of the new Randoms Momiji Dolls come in a noodle style gift box and include a free badge and sticker. Which is SO awesome! Older style dolls come in a vinyl and card pouch, tied with a ribbon. These dolls are some of my favorites. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Each one has a personalized profile; which are always ridiculously cute and off the wall. Silly Billy is so my favorite because she loves camping and being outdoors.

Right now I"m obsessed with all of these folksy rag dolls that keep appearing everwhere. Something about their exposed seams and elongated bodies is just so cute! I love the faceless doll. Something about it makes me what to bring her home and customize her myself. She looks like such a little hipster. I just want to go home and make my own!!
